Ewé Center for Cultures and Spiritualities – Technical Engineering for a Visionary Cultural Project
About the Project
The Ewé Center for Cultures and Spiritualities (CCSE) is a major cultural project located in Notsé, Togo, the historical heartland of the Ewé people. Initiated by the Kothor Foundation and designed by Kéré Architecture, the center pays tribute to the traditions, beliefs, and spiritual legacy of the Ewé civilization.
Spanning over 7,000 m², the CCSE includes a series of architecturally symbolic buildings serving as spaces for cultural exchange, historical reflection, and artistic creation. The project blends contemporary design with ancestral meaning, creating a unique and immersive environment.
Ingenovatech's Contribution
Ingenovatech was engaged as a building systems engineering subcontractor, working alongside Kéré Architecture to deliver high-level technical infrastructure adapted to the site’s cultural importance and local environmental conditions.
Delivered services:
- Thermal study to ensure energy efficiency and thermal comfort in a hot climate
- Design and engineering of low-voltage electrical systems (security, access control, lighting, networking)
- Full electrical installation, compliant with international safety and performance standards
- Implementation of cooling and air-conditioning systems tailored for public and museum use
Expertise Deployed
The project mobilizes a specialized team combining engineering precision with cultural sensitivity, across multiple technical domains.
Areas of expertise:
- Electrical engineering for large buildings
- Applied thermal studies for tropical environments
- HVAC systems design and implementation
- Cross-disciplinary coordination with architectural, structural, and project management teams
- Regulatory compliance for safety, accessibility, and energy performance
Expected Outcome
Once completed, the CCSE will benefit from a modern, efficient, and resilient technical infrastructure designed to support long-term cultural programming. The result will be a center that harmonizes cultural identity with technical excellence, fostering visibility and pride in Ewé heritage.
This project exemplifies Ingenovatech’s commitment to technically complex, culturally meaningful projects across West Africa.
